The heavy snowfall of recent winters has made the snowshoes of our ancestors – “krplje” – popular again. Wherever one might get stuck in the snow with modern footwear, this simple accessory, which can be attached to our boots, helps us out of trouble. All of a sudden, the Alpine valleys covered with deep snow – Zadnjica, Zapoden, Možnica and/or Bavšica – become easily accessible.
