The Source of the Soča River and Trenta Valley
The Soča River emerges from an intriguing karstic spring beneath the frozen peaks of the Julian Alps. Regarded by many as the most beautiful alpine river in Europe, it cascades down rocky slopes in smaller waterfalls, carves through narrow gorges into the rocks, and then widens its bed, spreading across white gravel, always enchanting with its emerald green color.
There are numerous thrilling experiences for whitewater enthusiasts. The Soča is a sought-after destination for rafting, popular among kayakers and canoeists, providing excellent conditions for hydrospeed (riverboarding) and canyoning.
Its tranquil and refreshingly cold waters invite visitors to its banks, creating natural swimming spots on hot summer days.
