Route Description:
A moderately challenging cycling route that takes us high above Bovec, offering a beautiful view of the Bovec basin. The tour begins in the centre of Bovec, passing the Church of St. Urh in the direction of the village of Plužna. At 1.6 km, leave the asphalt road and continue on a dirt road towards the B station of the Kanin cable car. After 6 km of a steady climb, you reach station B, where you turn left and follow the road to the intersection in Gozdec and Krnica Alpine Pasture. From here, there are two options. The left fork leads to Gozdec via a forest road that gently ascends and then descends. The right fork goes on a forest path in the direction of Krnica Alpine Pasture where it ends after a long steep climb towards a viewpoint on 1250 meters above sea level. For Gozdec, the forest road continues, gently ascending and then descending, bringing you below the 1439 m high peak of Kopa. You can climb to the summit on foot. From there, you can continue on foot to the abandoned Krnica Alpine Pasture, which is about a 20-minute walk away. Return via the same route.
